Boiled Custard... like Egg Nog, but better!! My family used to have this every year around Christmastime.

Step 1

Beat eggs in mixing bowl with sugar. Stir in the milk.

Step 2

In a double boiler (lower pot), add water and bring to a low boil. Pour egg/milk/sugar mix into the top pot. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes (or until mixture coats a spoon). Add vanilla extract.

Step 3

Strain using a sieve (or, some like it lumpy).

Step 4

Chill before serving. Mmmmmmm!!
