Step 1

Sift first five ingredients together into an ungreased cake tin.

Step 2

Make 3 holes. In one drop the vanilla, another drop the vinegar, and the third drop the shortening.

Step 3

Over all pour 2 cups cold water. Stir batter well.

Step 4

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes.
