Boiled Custard

Boiled Custard... like Egg Nog, but better!! My family used to have this every year around Christmastime.
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Servings: 4 servings (roughly)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • double boiler

Method
 

  1. Beat eggs in mixing bowl with sugar. Stir in the milk.
  2. In a double boiler (lower pot), add water and bring to a low boil. Pour egg/milk/sugar mix into the top pot. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes (or until mixture coats a spoon). Add vanilla extract.
  3. Strain using a sieve (or, some like it lumpy).
  4. Chill before serving. Mmmmmmm!!
