- In the mixing bowl, stir the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together with a fork.
- Add the cold butter pieces and using your fingertips, work the putter into the dry ingredients (it is okay to have larger pieces).
- Add buttermilk and mix with fork until ingredients are moist. Then need no more than 12 times.
- Place scones in a scone pan (for triangles) or divided into halves until you have 8 even pieces. Cook at 425 for 10-12 minutes. (Best warm- reheat for 5 minutes at 350.)
