Carne Gisada Con Papas (Meat & Potatoes)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs Round Steak Cut into cubes
  • 2 lbs Potatoes Cubed
  • 1 15 oz Can of Tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper ground
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin ground
  • 1 clove Garlic smashed
  • 1 cup Water To suit

Equipment

  • knife
  • Stew pot

Method
 

  1. Cut round steak into cubes and brown in shortening in heavy skillet.
  2. Peel and cube potatoes (approx 1/2" cubes).
  3. Once meat isslightly browned add potatoes and continue to brown. (Don't worry if it sticks to the bottom of the skillet).
  4. Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, cumin powder, and garlic. Add approximately one cup water and simmer until meat and potatoes are tender. Potatoes will thicken the sauce. Serve with Flour tortillas or bread.
